My to-do list

Going through my grandmother's things after she passed away, we found a suitcase with this label

"Things to do when I get to it".

This page is my running list of things I'm working on right now -- or, at least, things that I NEED
to be working on right now -- and "things to do when I get to it" :-)

I'm working on a new monthly e-mail column, called "Ignite!" This column will include instructions,
inspirations, tips, and techniques related to all aspects of making books -- from conception through
creating editions.

I'm writing an article for magazine submission with instructions, ideas, and inspiration for making a fan book.

I've had several people talk to me about how I come up with the ideas for my books. I've often
heard the comment "Anybody can learn to make a book, but not everyone can come up with ideas
for content" -- I've decided to offer a workshop dealing with this problem, and I'm currently writing it.

I still have several tasks before the next iteration of this site can be considered done:
* Lake Time- I need to take a photograph of the book in the box.
* Need photographs of "The American Sailor" and "SPARKs".
* And then there're those really cool Flash movies I talked about on another page :-)

I want to rework some of my older books and offer them as editions.
* A Day In The Life Of... - This is a prototype set -- I am currently in the process of recreating the
art for each card as a fabric collage. Then I'll scan the art in to create the cards. Each laminated
card has a depiction of a cat doing what cats do best -- sleeping, napping, snoozing, resting --
you get the picture!
* The Match - I'm not entirely happy with the words, and want to rewrite the entire book. I also think
I might try to use some form of image transfer for the pop-up -- I don't really like the shiny texture of
the transparency.
* Daisy's Quilts - I'm not entirely happy with the text in this book - it's on my list to redo, now that I
know more about syllabic poetry.

"FAITH" is exhibiting in the Gallery at Susan Hensel Design.

There's a new online exhibition going up at www.cre8it.com, with a theme of "A Hardware Book".
The idea is to use only materials that can be found a a hardware store. I have a good concept for
this book -- I only need time to execute it!

Contact me if you have any questions, comments, or just want to talk about artists' books!
