The turtle is the second concrete piece I've done -- the first at home after class, on my own. He's a carved styrofoam form covered with concrete, then the shell is finished with a glass mosaic that implies a world map, and an embedded peace sign -- my bid for world peace :-)

The eyes are marbles that I found when we cleaned the attic after we bought our old farmhouse. I chose the color because I kind of envisioned the turtle under some foliage in a garden. At first glance you only see the red and yellow, then you see the turtle.
